Home health recipients of a HealthInsight Quality Award are selected for demonstrating high quality health care and excellence in performance on publicly reported quality of care measures. These measures come from clinical and administrative data that are collected from home health agencies across the nation.
Excellence, for the purposes of this award, is linked to achievement of 90th percentile in national home health rankings. HealthInsight developed these rankings using its own analysis of data collected by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Click here for the Home Health rankings. State survey results are also a factor in determining award recipients. Award recipients must also have specified Quality Markers in place.

It is important to note that even the best data can be subject to flaws.
The data come from 11 outcome measures and are self-reported by the agencies.
Choosing Quality Health Care
Quality measure information is one indicator of care to consider when
choosing home health services for yourself or a loved one. Use information
from other consumer resources as well. A variety of information can
also help you define quality for yourself according to what is most
important to you.
When visiting an agency, take a “guide” or checklist
for choosing a home health agency (link is provided below). It will prompt
you to ask pertinent questions that will help you choose quality health care.
You can make quality health care choices by becoming an informed consumer.
